Initial meeting

An initial meeting (of up to an hour) is offered at our cost with no obligation on you to use us, or go ahead with anything.

Advice Fees

Our standard fees are set out below - a set fee may be agreed, depending on your specific circumstances and the complexity of the work involved.

We will always tell you exactly how much you will pay before you agree to proceed with our services. The agreed fee may be paid by invoice or provided by an adviser charge from your investment or pension and paid by the product provider, if a product is implemented for you.

We offer a lifetime income and expenditure cashflow service for both pre and post-retirement scenarios.

Set Investment Analysis fees

We offer set fees to analyse different types of investment products, produce a report and make a recommendation on the options available to you.

Detailed Investment Analysis (3 or more investment products)

  • Initial meeting and completion of a full factfind, looking at current assets and liabilities, and incomes and expenditures, as well as expected changes in the future and in retirement

  • Discuss what your aims and plans are for the future

  • Discuss your Attitude to Risk and your Capacity for Loss

  • Conduct a detailed analysis of all your investment products

  • Create a cashflow scenario report of your current situation – this will determine whether you have enough money to survive now and in retirement

  • Create a second cashflow scenario report - model scenario 2 – which involves putting in place various options to determine whether you have enough money to survive now and in retirement

  • Create a second cashflow scenario report - model scenario 3 – which involves replicating model scenario 2 but applying a Stress Test. This will look at investment volatility and determine whether you’d have a problem in the event of a market downturn

  • We will write you a suitability report making our recommendation

Simple Investment Analysis (1 – 2 investment products)

  • Initial meeting and completion of a full fact find, looking at current assets and liabilities, and incomes and expenditures, as well as expected changes in the future and in retirement

  • Discuss what your aims and plans are for the future

  • Discuss your Attitude to Risk and your Capacity for Loss

  • Conduct a detailed analysis of your 1 – 2 investment products

  • Create a cashflow scenario report of your current situation – this will determine whether you have enough money to survive now and in retirement

  • Create further cashflow scenarios, such as putting in place various options and stress testing to determine whether you have enough money to survive now and in retirement

  • We will write you a suitability report making our recommendation

Implementation fees

If following our investment analysis you request our assistance in implementing the advice, a fixed fee would be set depending on your specific circumstances and the complexity of the work involved. Please contact us for more information on implementation fees and what is involved, which includes:

  • Research and identify the most suitable investments to meet your needs and confirm our recommendation in a suitability report
  • Complete all paperwork and administration to ensure the process is as smooth as possible
  • Agree an appropriate investment strategy

The cost of implementing additional advice is detailed below. Please note the below costs are a fixed fee and are charged on top of the implementation fees:

  • Flexi Access Drawdown or Uncrystallised Fund Pension Lump Sum: £350
  • Annuity Purchase: £250
  • Bespoke Self Invested Personal Pension (SIPP) or Small Self Administered Scheme (SSAS) set up: £800
  • Unlisted Share Purchase: £1,450
  • Commercial Property Purchase: From £2,500
  • Stock Broking Service Arrangement: £700
  • Lump Sum Investment, ISA or Pension (or non bespoke SIPP):
    • 2% up to £100,000, 1% over £100,000 (subject to minimum fee of £500)
    • E.g. For an amount of £200,000, the fee would be £3,000 (2% of £100,000 = £2,000, 1% of£100,000 = £1,000)
  • Regular Contribution Investment, ISA or Pension (or non bespoke SIPP): £500 per plan
  • Top up an existing Pension or Investment plan: £250 per plan
  • Venture Capital Trust/Enterprise Investment Scheme:
    • 2.5% of investment amount (subject to minimum of £500 per plan)
    • E.g. for an amount of £20,000, the fee would be £500; for an amount of £50,000 the fee would be £1,250

Our ongoing services

At Niche we do not believe that ‘one size fits all’ and therefore we offer three ongoing service propositions to choose from:

Active service (more involved)

  • Annual review meeting which includes a review of your Attitude to Risk/Capacity for Loss, and a Cash Flow Planning analysis and report
  • Bi-annual portfolio report (detailing performance of financial holdings)
  • Online portal access including real-time portfolio valuation
  • All correspondence and emails replied to or, when more involved, acknowledged within 48 hours
  • Unrestricted telephone access with a financial planner, all telephone calls will be returned within 4 hours during our working week (9am-5pm, Monday-Friday)
£1,500 p/a (subject to change)

Annual service (less involved)

  • Offer of an annual review meeting including portfolio report (detailing performance of financial holdings)
  • If annual review meeting is not opted for, portfolio report will be provided by post or email
  • All correspondence and emails replied to or, when more involved, acknowledged within 48 hours
  • Unrestricted telephone access with an adviser, all telephone calls will be returned within 4 hours during our working week (9am-5pm, Monday-Friday)
£750 p/a (subject to change)

Ad-hoc service

  • The Ad-Hoc service is for those clients who do not want to opt for the Active or Annual services detailed above. Any future work carried out will be charged as and when the work is requested, in line with our published charges applicable at that time.
