Life Assurance
Life Assurance is needed for only one reason - to provide money
for people who depend on you. If there is no one who will be financially
distressed by your death, life assurance is not needed. If there
are other persons who dependant on you, then it becomes extremely
important.
We can ensure that any cover you may currently have has
competitive premiums and that you are not under or over insured.
Critical Illness Insurance
These policies are designed to pay out a lump sum if you are diagnosed
with any one of a number of named serious illnesses. The important
difference from life assurance is that the sum is paid while you
are living to allow you to deal with your financial affairs. To
quote Dr Marius Barnard who together with his brother Dr Christian
Barnard, were the pioneering heart transplant surgeons and fiercely
campaigned for insurance companies in South Africa to launch a ‘dread
disease’ insurance policy.
To a patient needing a heart operation;
“Would you rather lose
your house or your mortgage?”
The illnesses covered vary between different insurance companies,
we can ensure you know what each policy covers and whether it is
suitable for your needs.
Income Protection
These policies are designed to pay out a monthly amount to cover
a proportion of your income which may be reduced or lost due to
prolonged illness. They usually have a deferred period of between
4 and 52 weeks before they pay benefits.
We can ensure that you are adequately covered and that
any policy required fits in exactly with the sick pay scheme your
employer may already provide you.
